01~GENESIS 012010 -20

10. And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.

11. And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:

[The word fair is not light skin, but the word means physically attractive. Fair: Strong's Ref. # 3303 Romanized yapheh, Pronounced yaw-feh' , from HSN3302; beautiful (literally or figuratively)]

ABRAHAM TELLS SARAH TO LIE TO THE EGYPTIANS

12. Abraham said since you are such a hot babe the Egyptians will kill me and take you for themselves.

13. Lie to the Egyptians and tell them you are my sister so they don't murder me.

PHARAOH GIVES ABRAHAM GOODIES AND TAKES SARAH

14. ... the Egyptians beheld the Sarah that she was very fair.

15. The princes also of Pharaoh took Sarah to Pharaoh's pad.

16. They gave Abraham goodies in exchange.... sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.[ Hagar may have been one of the maid servants Abraham got in this exchange]

THE LORD PLAGUED PHARAOH

17. the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house because of Abram's wife.

18. And Pharaoh asked Abraham why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?

19. Why did you lie about Sarah being your sister? Now take Sarah and get out of my site.

20. And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.

a) Abraham survives the famine thanks to the Egyptians

b) Abraham lied to the Egyptians to save his skin

c) After Abraham was busted in his lie, he left Egypt with all the goodies he got by virtue of Sarah and his lies... sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels. [ Hagar probably one of his ill-gotten gains]

Sarah was Abraham's half sister, she was his father's daughter.
